Blame the Wii
So I never realized that I left cairo-1.2.6 masked until lu_zero brought it up the other day. I also have been wanting to test out the cairo 1.3 series of snapshots in either Gentopia or Portage masked. Well I gave cairo 1.3.10 a whirl and it’s an incredible improvement over the previous 1.3.x snapshots I had tested out. I’ve decided to push it into Portage but keep it masked for now. So basically, I’d like some people to test it out and if it works good for them I’ll probably push that version into ~arch. The 1.3.x versions will also carry a new USE flag, the xcb USE flag which is the X C Binding library that you can find out more about at FreeDesktop.org. Now why’d all this take me so long to do? Because I’ve been distracted by my brand new Wii. It’s really an amazing machine. I do have to give Nintendo a lot of credit for coming up with a unique interface that’s fun to use and makes you get up and move, since my arm is still sore from all the Wii Baseball and Wii Boxing I’ve been playing.
Later this week I hope to provide some details on my LDAP roll out at my office.
